Pain management is extremely important during the first two to six weeks after joint replacement surgery. Make sure you stay ahead of the pain and be prepared for the constipation that is a direct and significant side effect from the use of narcotic medications. As all of our patients say, make ice your best friend” to prevent swelling, stiffness and pain.
