In order to give your arrangement a sense of additional shape, which will in turn make the arrangement is the first thing that is required. To begin, make a large silk flower arrangement in an urn-shaped container. If you are making this flower arrangement shouldn't be too wide, but it shouldn't be too narrow, either.

Dang it! It's your friend's birthday. Cash is tight and her party is tomorrow night. And you haven't bought her a present yet. Well, never fear! The Magnet Queen is here! And I'm here to guide you through the marble magnet process. These little magnets take only minutes to make, just hours to dry, and will be so cute you'll have a hard time parting with them.

Supply List:

1. Flat marbles These marbles are usually found in the florist section of your local craft store and come in net bags. Depending on what size you get, you can get 20-50+ marbles per bag. Make sure you get the clear ones without any pearl-like glaze. And these marbles are usually less than $2.00 a bag.

2. Paper Choose some cute scrapbook paper. Fun patterns like cupcakes, monkeys, owls, and hearts are always welcomed by your friends. Scrapbook paper can often be found in single sheets or in stacks. I always look at the dollar store and in the dollar bin at the craft store for cute, cheap paper. You can also use colored copies of pictures if you want to make them more personal.

3. Glue I use two kinds of adhesives on my marble magnets: Inkssentials Glossy Accents is what I use to glue the marble to the paper and I use acrylic gel medium to glue the magnets to the back. A simpler, and cheaper, one-glue product would be a matte Mod Podge decoupage glue.

4. Magnets I like a good, strong magnet for my marble magnets so I use ceramic magnets. You can buy a package of 10 for $1.50 or 50 for about $7.00, depending on the size.

5. Foam paint brush These can be found for 10-20 cents when on sale. I buy a bunch of them at a time, because I tend to forget to wash out my brushes before the glue dries.

6. Pencil Any pencil or pen really will do.

7. Scissors Small, sharp-tipped scissors really seem to work best for this project.

Making your Marble Magnets:

1. Choose your magnets, paper/images, glue, magnets, and brushes and bring them all to your work area. There's nothing more frustrating than being ready to glue your paper to your marble and then realizing that you've left your paper in the bag.

2. You can do the next part one of two ways. Either way works, but I usually do it the second way, because it cuts out a step and I'm lazy (or I should say “I'm frugal with my time”) like that. A) Position your marble on the paper and trace around the marble with your pencil. Cut out paper. Apply the adhesive to the back of marble and press the paper on. B) Here's the way I do it: apply the adhesive of your choice (Glossy Accents or Mod Podge)to the flat end of the marble (you'll probably want a brush if you're going to use Mod Podge) and then position it on your paper (oh, you'll probably want to figure out where you're going to place your marble on the paper before you apply adhesive to it). Using your sharp-tipped scissors, cut around the marble.

3. Brush on more adhesive to the back of your now paper-covered marble back (Be generous! But not too generous!)and then press your magnet on the back.

4. Let your marbles dry for a couple of hours before putting them on your fridge. I like to give my marbles about 24 hours before I say, “Ah, they're ready!” just to make sure that they stay on the fridge during the day as I'm opening it and slamming it shut.

A word of caution about the newly made marble magnets: Do not let them kiss! Wet marbles kissing can lead to messy situations. Keep them apart for at least 24 hours so you don't have to start all over again.

5. Ta da! You're done. You can now give your friend a wonderful birthday gift that she will cherish forever! And everyone will “ooh” and “aahh” because you're so creative!

As westerners, we are often compelled to try to control and plan all design aspects of what we want when constructing something. We try to anticipate every little detail so we don't make a mistake. Although you will still need to organize and draw out your Japanese garden design, plus determine the shape of your landscape and what you desire for your garden, you should also allow yourself to “go with the flow” and let it “speak to you” as your garden takes shape. In other words, allow for improvisation and ideas to emerge rather than being rigid in sticking to your original design plan.

There are many specific activities in the garden is better done in winter and some are best done at one another but the gardening season is year-round activities • Winter. Planning enables you to view the frame leaves the garden without the intervention of such a basic form of planning easier • Spring. planning can focus on the study of climate and location of the spring warm starting point in your garden. You may want to study the spring of each year and save your notes in a notebook so that adjustments can be made specifically grow your garden • planning. Do not worry, just go get some garden catalogs and gardening magazines last year, the scissors are sharp and pointed to some double-sided tape. Every thing that appeals to you can be cut and arranged on the page, and then repeated as desired. When you find the look you really like, use a little double sided tape to keep down. At this stage you can still try to decide between the look of formal and informal looks tight wild garden. There is a compromise for the two extreme great job and looked at the form, theme and color combinations in garden magazines and books to help you sort out what appeals to you. Spring garden is not fully grown and perfectly out of his reverie. They must be carefully manipulated to influence the ideal gain. Do as much as possible early manipulation on paper and used as a sketch as much as you want. Expert garden designers and landscapers usually make some rough sketches before settling on the design of the most satisfying. Garden design should integrate the front, side and rear yard area to the whole flow. This does not mean the whole affair should be one theme but that theme had to separate the transition in a fun way to one another or are separated by elements of smart structures. Some ways to do this is to place the arch, gate, fence, or line between the elements. Truly great garden design book Your House, Your Garden, 2003, by Gordon Hayward, published by WW Norton, include: 1. Park in front of the house 2. Park along the side of the house 3. Back porch, patio and garden 4. Gardens in the ell or the home page 5. Gardens between buildings 6. gardens around the building outside your house, you get a 2004 yearbook Garden American Horticultural Society award (no small feat, this is a prestigious award). Small spaces can be made to look larger by creating the illusion of things outdoors. Using the arches and trellises combined with a mirror to manipulate perspective can really change the look and feel of a small space. Redesign existing space: Redesigning a garden that has been established is a different story from the design on the slate of "empty". Your first step is to map the existing garden and decide what you need and what you want to change. McHoy, P., and Evelegh, T., 2000, Garden Design and Decoration, suggested "Do not let you dictate the features that are new, the park …" discuss. They impossibility of doing anything about the poor placement of an existing garage or a large tree but I know these things can be handled well. It costs about $ 1,000. has five major diseased and dangerous Black Locust tree removed from my yard but the improvement was immediate and profound. As far as garages or other buildings that already exist, they can be derived, of course, but perhaps more realistic to camouflage them. Trellis and wine may be good enough to hide the building and hanging baskets and container plants and flowers can create a wall of the garage part of the design elements. Try installing a large mirror on the wall of the garage and put the arch in front of him with the planting of tall skinny evergreen fishing out like wings opening portion of the curved sides to create the illusion of an endless garden path. The idea to adapt the walls, doors, fencing, decking, and the boundaries (no delete) into your design plan can be found in the books of many garden design. I really liked McHoy and Evelegh's Garden Design and Decoration. The sections in the renovation of an existing view in the back of this book. Experiments with the idea of painting the garage wall of green plants and a sponge on the element of camouflage. Cover with trellising panel prints or create your own trellis of grape vines or a piece of woven willow branches. Trellis must be firmly attached to the wall so as not to be unidentified flying objects in a wind storm. This can be a wall to wall screens mounted fountains, statues, garden knickknacks and masks Sun Use your imagination and thinking along the lines incorporate a permanent feature and change it rather than against it.
